3-dimensional mouse computer interface[ Link to movie ][ Back to home page ] Here's a movie showing the interface in action. Images of the 3D Mouse, a program I wrote using OpenGL, using electric field models created by Josh Smith and Neil Gershenfeld (1995-96). Image of my hand, taken with a scanning high-resolution electric field sensor I built (a concentric bipolar planar electrode, mounted on a 2D motorized stage). The detection hardware uses the School of Fish board built by Josh Smith (1997). Image from a 3D CAD program I wrote. By remotely sensing your hands, it lets you move/rotate/scale objects with the free motion of your hands in space, allowing for a more fluid design experience (1996).
